Maya finally admits she saw the locket in the lost-and-found at the subway station store the locket sat there unclaimed for months, so Maya claimed it for herself. Later, Maya visits Riley in her bedroom, and Riley again asks where Maya got the locket. Topanga is naturally perturbed by Cory's comments. After he takes his first bite, Cory says he knows how the chicken died- from eating itself. But his philosophy is about to get him into hot water when Topanga brings dinner to the table: an atrocious looking chicken which Cory is reluctant to even touch. ![]() Maya asks if Riley is calling her a liar, but Riley just wants her to tell the truth, which is when Maya confronts Riley about lying to Farkle.Īs the Matthews sit down to dinner, Riley asks Cory if it's okay to tell a little white lie to spare someone's feelings Cory answers that it's always important to tell the truth. After class, when Riley asks Maya where she got the locket, Maya claims her father sent it to her, but Riley doesn't believe her. The next day in class, Riley notices Maya is wearing a new locket Cory talks to the class about truth, particularly how throughout history people have suffered consequences for having the courage to tell the truth. After he walks away, Maya is worried that Riley's lie will go to Farkle's head, but Riley thinks it will all go away quickly, until they see Farkle tap dancing down the hall in top hat and cane still wearing the costume he wore in the play. Later, Maya is ready to confront Farkle with the truth, but Riley undercuts her and convinces Farkle that he was a hit, which is when Farkle says he thought he himself ruined the play, but he would have believed Riley if she had said so, even though it would have hurt to hear it. In the tomb scene, just as Romeo (Lucas) is about to give the unconscious Juliet (Riley) a final kiss before taking his own life, Farkle, dressed as a guardsman and brandishing a rubber spear, crashes the scene, essentially ruining the play. Lucas and Riley are acting in the JQAMS' production of Romeo & Juliet. ![]() When Riley lies to Farkle that his performance in a play was great, Farkle decides to quit his other activities and focus on his next audition. ![]()
